Whitelee Windfarm: A Dog-Friendly Adventure Worth Exploring

Dog lovers, if you want a walk with epic views, fresh air, and a seriously cool vibe, Whitelee Windfarm is calling your name.

Just 20 miles south of Glasgow, this vast moorland hosts over 200 wind turbines powering thousands of homes, plus a variety of trails perfect for every dog and owner.

From easy loops to longer hikes, it’s a brilliant spot for your dog to explore wide-open spaces, sniff out sheep (yes, sheep!), and take in breathtaking views stretching as far as the Isle of Arran.

Important heads-up: Nesting season runs April 1st to July 31st, so keep your dog on lead during this time to protect local wildlife.

Also, pack for all weathers and bring snacks and water for you and your pup, this is Scotland, after all.

While the visitor centre café isn’t dog-friendly inside, you can chill on the terrace with your dog and a cuppa after your walk.
