Carrot and Oat Beef Balls

Knowing what to feed your dog for their wellbeing can be a minefield. 

We know that there is a direct correlation between good nutrition and good gut health, which in turn leads to happy and healthy dogs. 

The Dog Witch aims to provide owners with dog friendly recipe ideas, which are full of goodness for your pup. 

This recipe contains carrot and oat beef balls, which we are sure your pupper will love. 

Ingredients

  • Lean beef mince (good source of protein so helps keep joint and muscles healthy)
  • Handful of chopped Spinach (full of vitamins and minerals which help support the immune system, vision and digestive health) 
  • Thumb size piece of fresh ginger – grated – (provides natural pain relief, helps reduce inflammation, good for digestion and nausea, also protects heart health)
  • 2 Carrots – chopped (Natural de-wormer, good for vision and heart health, also good for dental health and the skin and coat) 
  • Half a cup of rolled oats – (full of fibre, aids digestion, good for skin and coat health) 
  • 1 beaten egg and ground shell (good source of protein, full of vitamins and minerals, contains healthy fats, shell provides minerals which are good for bone health)

Method

  • Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees or gas mark 6 
  • Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper 
  • Place all the ingredients into a large bowl and fully combine  
  • Using spoons shape the beef mixture into balls and transfer to the baking tray (you should be able to make around 12 balls) 
  • Pop into the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes 
  • Allow to cool and then serve to your dog

These can be given as a tasty treat or added to meals, they can be refrigerated for up to 5 days and frozen for 3 months
